This is an independent directory of therapists who name Narrative Therapy as one of their approaches. It is run by a small team and paid for by partner links. It is not a clinic, not a booking service and not a treatment provider.

How listings are compiled

  1. A therapist is included when the public professional details they supply to BetterHelp, the platform they work through, name Narrative Therapy among their approaches. The directory currently holds 4,803 listings across the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia.
  2. Details such as credentials, licence areas, languages, focus areas and years in practice are copied from what the therapist states. We do not collect them from therapists directly.
  3. The written summary, the questions and the notes on online sessions in each listing are produced with the help of AI, working only from those supplied facts. They are written not to add anything that is not in the source: no invented specialisms, diagnoses, availability or results.
  4. Listings are refreshed from the source periodically. If something looks wrong, tell us and we will correct it.

What this site does not do

  • We do not check, rate or endorse any therapist, and we do not confirm training or certification.
  • We do not rank listings by quality, and the order is not paid for.
  • We do not give clinical advice, make diagnoses or promise any outcome.
  • We do not publish whether someone is taking new clients; it changes constantly and anything shown would be out of date.
  • We do not hold session notes and we are not part of any therapy that follows from a listing.

Corrections and removals

If you are listed here and something is wrong or out of date, write to us with the correction and we will amend or remove the listing. Therapists can ask to be removed at any time and do not need to give a reason. Removal applies across the whole site, not just to search.
