Questions about using this directory
If your question is not answered here, you can write to us. We cannot give advice about your own situation or recommend a particular therapist.
Using the directory
Is the directory free to use?
Yes. Some links to therapy platforms are partner links, and we will earn a commission if you sign up through one. This does not change what you pay or the order of listings.
Do you check that a therapist is trained in Narrative Therapy?
No. Listings show the approaches a therapist names themselves. We do not assess, certify, rate or endorse anyone listed here.
Can I contact a therapist through this site?
Not directly. Each listing points to our partner platform, where sessions with the therapist are arranged. We do not pass messages to therapists and we are not part of any therapy that follows.
Choosing a therapist
Can I see any therapist in the list?
Only those who are licensed or registered where you live. Online sessions are still limited by licensure, so each listing states the states or countries covered where the record holds them.
How do I know whether Narrative Therapy suits me?
There is no way to tell in advance. Most people use a first conversation to ask how the therapist works and to see how the conversation feels.
What if a therapist lists ten approaches?
That is common. It is worth asking how much of the work is narrative and what a session usually looks like.
Do more years in practice mean a better therapist?
Not on its own. Years in practice is background information. Newer therapists often have more availability and lower fees.
For therapists
How did I come to be listed?
Listings are compiled from the public professional details therapists supply to the platform they work through. Nobody applies, and nobody pays to appear or to appear higher.
How do I correct or remove my listing?
Write to us with the correction and we will amend or remove it. You do not need to give a reason for a removal.
If you need help now
This site is a listing and cannot help in a crisis. If you are in immediate danger or worried about your safety, contact your local emergency service or a crisis line in your country.
